Western Wallflowers on Shanahan Ridge

The lower Shanahan Ridge is the place for wildflower color. The march of spring has brought out Boulder’s bolder wildflowers such as our Western Wallflowers and Wild Iris. To add to a photographer’s delight, they are set against a backdrop of the Front Range. 

The Shanahan Ridge area is a easy to get to and easy to walk (http://www.bouldercolorado.gov/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3034&Itemid=1035).  Even a 30 minute hike will bring great visual rewards. You can access the trailhead from the Southwest end of Hardscrabble Lane off Lehigh. Bring your camera. I’ll be crawling around for the next few days trying to capture some of this eye candy.
